Four eras of poker babes in one place

Walking through the three rooms holding Day1a of the $1k I realised we had four eras of my blogging present. From my days of the UltimatePokerChallenge at the Plaza we had Denver’s Ruth Graham and Connie Kim. Then from ,when I was famous, Maria Ho,then pokerfolio days the lovely Jenny Lam and from 2009 LAPC days Sara Chau.Not quite sure what tomorrow can bring.

Neil Channing is putting his team in one of those 10 bedroomed party houses. Depending how deep he plays in the $40k he may be freerolling already. I watched the first hand of the $40k today and Andrew Robl bust.

I noticed two casinos offering all day buffet passes for $20 + $25. Unfortunately, it isn’t the Rio,Wynn or Bellagio.

It appears that Sara Chau 18500 and Connie Kim 11400 are through to Day2. George Bronstein (Full Tilt cap) has 22400.

Certainly everyone I know was planning on playing the $1k tomorrow. It seems that if you arrive tomorrow evening you may be shut out as even in a huge room like the Amazon the “sold out’ signs are being painted as I write. Of course, they may let in alternates. If you do find the event sold out you can always ride the shuttle down to Caesars. If all else fails the Venetian has room for you I am sure.

Go Etay at Harrahs circuit event

Although she wasn’t able to feature as often as Sara Chau in my posts from the Commerce, Esther Taylor was noted. One day she had the impressive spiral staircase built with $5 chips in the High Limit area. Another day she made the final table in a PLO event. Then she disappeared . Apparently she had left the L.A. rain for the delights of whatever Atlantic City could throw at herÂ to play the ME at Borgota where she cashed.

Today Etay was one of 106, down from 146 last year, to enter the $5k main event. She finished the day clear leader and frankly we think she should just be given the trophy now and let the others fight it out for second.

Update: Etay did a deal with Dwyte Pilgrim. The Pilgram fathers the trophy, Etay buys a round of drinks before taking the free bus back to L.A. We were hoping our special reporter Mary Jo Ho would be there to report but our phone has been silent. Third was ex Silver City, Circus Circus poker room manager Charles Williams. The bubble was unlucky Matt Hyman. Unlucky because his twin has Kimberly Lansing for a g/f whereas Matt …. even Sabyl Cohen is taken.

No its far too chilly to be writing this in my underwear. Five tables returned today to play out the ME at the Bike. Day1 chip leader was veteran John Smith with 109k. Men Nguyen had 69k with two more Nguyens still in play. The stylish Ben Nguyen had just 5k and Chau Nguyen 32k. Each drew seperate tables if you know where I am going with this…. Ben was still playing as the bubble,18, appeared on Eastern Ave. My favourite was Sally, who is featured twice in my gallery. Nikhil Gera is a player to watch but he has followed the trend of drinking as he plays. No photo of Men as he was at the bar ordering a Corona as I did the rounds. The winner was Thanh Luong $85k, Lance Tahata 42k, Susan Trabue 21k, Philip Stark 13k, Antonio Ferer 10k,Sung Cho 8k

Rincon is off and running. Despite being in a field, near were Coachella is held, Event #1 attracted 646 including our friend Tony TNT Nasr who picked up a $7k payday when making the FT. The event was won by a student from UCSD, Maria Ho’s old playground, Michael Robinson. “Heres to you Michael Robinson”. 278 played the $300 Event #2.The winner was a SD attorney Harvey Doncev. Good job by Nolan Dalla on keeping us informed.

Nolan Dalla will of course be around at the WSOP at the Rio this summer. Also returning but looking much better in a bikini will be the Sapphire girls who will once again lounge around the pool by day at the Rio.

Nothing in the mail from Santa Anita since owners Magna defaulted on their loan. Maybe, they want to boost the cash intake by making us pay to go racing. Maybe, they just want to save money by cutting down on LA area mailouts. Maybe they had to fire the ladies who put together the mailouts. Anyway, despite a high wind warning I need my day at the track tomorrow.
