Unintentionally, PartyGaming may have been responsible for a decrease in the entries for their WPT event at the Bellagio. Any players who took part in the 48hr Big game held in Mayfair,London found themselves unable to fly out of London in time for the $25k event at the Bellagio.

The players included Vegas regulars Roland de Wolfe, Neil Channing, Justin Bonomo,Isaac Haxton,Tony G, Jennifer Tilly and Phil Laak. Since Roland lost $100k he may not have had his tube fare to Heathrow. Tilly and Laak won that amount combined so they can enjoy a stroll around Nottinghill. An American player called David Peat, who I must confess is off my radar, was the big winner ending up + $205k.

PartyGaming have also unveiled a new game called the Circus. It is an interactive role playing slot. The closest American casinos have is probably the Star Trek game. With its rollerskating monkeys, midgets and bearded ladies it sounds like the game was devised by Warren Lush himself!

Francesco Totti, the Roma soccer star, has signed for the Italian division of PartyPoker. Totti is no run of the mill soccer player in Rome, he is a legend. Totti has shown a rare loyalty to Roma never being tempted, to be like Robbie Keane or Craig Bellamy,to move to Milan or England for a huge signing on fee.Now 34 years old the player, whose poker ability is unknown to me,said of the deal ” I always apply myself with skill, loyalty, intelligence and passion. You need all of these for poker. It is a game that excites me and is a lot of fun.”

A PartyPoker. It spokesman added ” What Totti strives for he usually achieves. He is one of the greatest football players of his generation. The question is will he become one of the greatest poker players?”

With Totti’s loyalty he may have many years at Party to achieve greatness.

PokerStars pro Dario Minieri, a Roma fan, will be heartbroken that his hero is now playing for his rivals.

Party Poker, the new owners of the WPT, are running satellites to the LAPC main event to be played at the Commerce starting on Friday 26th February. The step tournaments are being run daily and the qualifying event, with a $750 buy in, is on Sundays at 5:15pm PST. At least two packages will be given away each week. The icing on the Party cake is that if the winner of the LAPC won his seat in one of these tournaments they will receive a $500000 bonus paid, tax free, into their account. Also all other Party qualifiers will receive a share of another $500000.

PartyPoker spokesman Mike Sexton said, in a press release, “If you are looking for big time poker action head to the LAPC.”

Ultimate Bet has an affordable 10 step promotion for a $12k package.UB is now Mac friendly as is Full Tilt who have satellites on Sunday,Tuesday and Thursday for a $12k package. FT will also hold a freeroll, for players,to the WPT celebrity event. This is a fun night where you can rub shoulders with the rich and famous Hollywood types.(Yarom Limor). If you don’t have a FT account yet click one of the links on my site for a great rakeback deal.

Last years field was 696. Could Matt Savage reach 1000 this year with all the hard work he is putting into promoting the event?
