Affordable accomodation for the LAPC

The first time I reported on the LAPC I stayed at the Ramada about two bleak miles from the Commerce. I hated it. Truck drivers starting their engines at 6am and then going to the Dennys next door for breakfast as the engines roared. Nowhere nearby to go before the poker started.

On my travels around L.A. I have been looking for budget options in areas of town which have a variety of restaurants, cinemas close by. One is the Rowland Heights Motel 6. For $49 this Motel6 has WiFi , a pool AND a golf driving range adjacent. ?Rowland Heights has many , mainly Asian, restaurants and the 60 freeway has an exit nearby.

Alhambra is a good area and has cinemas, tea shops, Fresh & Easy, Soup Plantation, 99c only store in fact anyone living there has no need to leave. It is also home to the Raymond Hotel. This European style hotel has a weekly rate of $200. If you don’t have a car,no problem as the Atlantic bus takes you to Telegraph Road where you will see the Commerce a short walk away.

    Steve,
Try priceline.com to name your own price. If you actually want to know where u r staying, they have that option. Hotels.com, Expedia, orbitz.com all have to have a better price. Put in 3 star hotel to get better than Ramada and you might get the price. Worth a try.
Good luck and see ya next week.

It is not for me. I know how everybody hates that area to stay in so I was on the lookout for alternatives. I read on a forum how priceline is finding rooms for $65 at the Doubletree though. Thanks John.See you very soon. (Do I have any carrot cake coming?)

Of course. If you take a pic, make sure it is with a nice stack of chips. Took a chop in a satellite yesterday but probably use it for the LImit. That $1 million guarantee (I see at least $1.2 million) is something to consider to play. Money is tight so got to pick wisely.
