With no cashes since 2003 Matt Savage was the type of guy you wanted in your home game. Lot’s of good stories from his day job as a tournament director but a donk player. Suddenly, the middle aged millionaire improves leaps and bounds and between  a very successful LAPC at the Commerce and a less so Cal state just before the WSOP he made two FT’s at the Venetian. Now he has two WSOP 09 cashes. It is rumoured he has his bedroom wallpapered with c notes.

Two old veterans of the poker boom Doug Carli and Mike Sica both started day2 of the $1500. Kim Wooka waited for the Everest lounge to open before she made her first cash. A lovely person she wears it well for Everest. I nearly played on their Wii today but went with a giant Cinnamon roll and coffee instead. Apparently, dinner is served in the rented Everest house rather than pay the ridiculous charges Harrahs inflicts on the hospitality suites.Everest has a retired international footballer on its team this year plus a female who was featured on WickedChops today.

The Palms is preparing for the Pokerstars takeover of the hotel for the next two weeks.

Mike Sica is well on his way to the final table. A nice change of luck for the “little man”.

I haven’t met Lily Bui yet but I expect she will be an Asian with an Aussie accent. Her stats are promising.
