Pokerstars in fight against dogfighting

I have restricted promoting the many charity events as I realise how little money actually filters down to the charities after what has become a cash cow for some industry organisers.

However, two tournaments taking place in L.A. deserve a mention. The first is for the Bridge Program and takes place at a venue called Echoplex this Sunday at noon. Lots of arty women due to play here. More about the BridgeProgram here.

The second is a big time affair with Pokerstars providing Greg Raymer. Shannon Elizabeth and Vince Van Patten are also due to play. This will take place at an upscale Hollywood Hills home on Saturday May 9th. The event, a casino evening, with poker at 9pm is to raise awareness of the Humane Society’s effort to end dogfighting in L.A.

Pokerstars has also provided a great prize: A choice of a trip to the Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure in January 2010 or to the WSOP this summer including accomodation at the Palms. Both packages are worth $15k.
