After watching the L.A. news yesterday I was pleased to reach the relative sanity of the Commerce. With one driver killing himself by driving the wrong way on the freeway and a woman in a u haul hogging prime time on Murdoch TV whats the odd fist fight? Actually Diane Nguyen wasn’t there yesterday so no fighting.
Randy Holland bubbled in the Omaha8, won by Lake Elsinore player Russell Cockrell but has bounced to make the final of the shootout. Randy cashed four times at the LAPC 2008.Randy modelled a pokergossip cap today.
A few big names are here already but don’t seem to be doing very much. John Phan has been around in case anyone wants a copy of the current Card Player signed. Michael Mizrachi is watching Matt Zoorob, the chip leader, in the shootout final. Michael , like myself, has a new website.
The LHE, which I won’t be covering tomorrow due to free admission Friday at Santa Anita, started with 240 and is down to 45 at the dinner break. Todd Witteless is probably surprised to be out, so he is not ready to go home yet and will probably remind me that he has a WSOP bracelet and deserves to be mentioned in the same paragraph as Phan and Mizrachi.
Sam who is deputy TD is a nice laid back young man and has been very helpful in my first few days in the casino. He struggled with the Omaha8 saying ” Tom has pocket Kings while Terry has some kind of low.” The cash games are slow by Commerce standards, however it was a beautiful day for the beach, golf or racetrack.
Lars Bonding has just arrived. Lars will join me in asking for the soccer to be shown in the room. All we need is David Levi and Harry Demetriou to arrive and we will have a vocal minority.
